    What Makes A Different Breed Animal Rescue Unique?

    A Different Approach: Attacking the Problem at the Source.

    THE STATISTICS: In 2003, the city of Dallas impounded 32,738 dogs and cats. Out of these, 26,157 were killed by lethal injection. At A Different Breed Rescue we believe the solution to this epidemic is simple: Stop the births! Spay one female dog or cat at four months of age and in seven years you have prevented 7,300 births. Cats and dogs are born faster than they can be adopted.

    OUR MISSION IS TO ADDRESS THE TRAGIC CONSEQUENCES OF PET OVERPOPULATION BY FOCUSING ON STERILIZATION, ADOPTION AND EDUCATION.

    We work with city officials, churches and community groups to bring affordable spay/neuter where ever needed;

    We facilitate and host offsite adoptions for Dallas Animal Services ( the city pound) in an effort to find homes for the city’s abandoned dogs and cats; and

    We educate the public on the necessity of pet sterilization and responsible pet ownership.

    Special thanks to our sponsor, Grant Thornton LLP

    Special thanks to Inwood Village (corner of Inwood and Lovers Lane in Dallas) and Legacy Trading Co. at the West Village (corner of McKinney and Cole Avenue in Dallas) for allowing us to conduct our adopt-a-pets on Saturday afternoons.
