Vegan Resistance for Liberation is not just an animal rights group centered in the Philadelphia area. While focusing on campaigns to free animals from the traditional, inhumane position into which our modern society has forced them, we also realize that this heartless treatment of animals is a symptom of a larger problem in our contemporary culture. Destruction of the Earth, exploitation of human labor, bigotry left over from a history of violent racism, and other forms of oppression seem to plague our world today as much as in the past. Because individuals are generally well-intended and compassionate, education is the best tool for change. Through demonstration, the belief in direct-action, and support of other groups who fight similar forms of oppression, we, as humans, have the ability to promote good and put an end to cruelty.
