    The American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS) is a non-profit, animal advocacy and educational organization dedicated to ending experimentation on animals in research, testing, and education. AAVS also opposes and works to end other forms of cruelty to animals.

    AAVS oversees an education division, Animalearn, which focuses its efforts on ending the harmful use of animals in classrooms, from the elementary school level to veterinary/human medical schools. (www.humanestudent.org and www.animalearn.org)

    They are also affiliated with the Alternatives Research and Development Foundation (ARDF) (www.ardf-online.org), which supports the development of alternatives to the use of animals in biomedical research, testing, and education.
