FOCAS is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that was established in 2001. We created Chattanooga's first Pet Meals on Wheels program, which provides pet food to pets of needy senior citizens and those living with HIV/AIDS. We also established the area's first Training Wheels program, a mobile outreach program that utilizes volunteers to travel through communities and provide basic care advice, on the spot training and behavior tips, and when urgently needed, spaying and neutering subsides.
Most recently, we have been raising funds to create Chattanooga's first off-leash dog park. This park will be a safe place for people to take their dogs off-leash for recreation and socialization without infringement on the rights of people who go to parks and don't want to be around dogs.
Except for a couple of fund raising events a year, we depend primarily on individual and corporate donors as well as grants for funding.
