    Detailed Information:
MAC is currently working with many Dallas area animal welfare groups like the HSUS and the SPCA of Texas to assist in providing food, crates, and medical supplies for the pets that are victims of Hurricane Katrina. We are in continuous touch with both agency's disaster relief teams, who are working with the Louisiana SPCA and others to get into effected areas and render aid. MAC is helping coordinate the effort from here and raising funds for much needed supplies. View the Animal Evacuation and Recovery Plan for New Orleans (PDF format)

The biggest need right now is for money to purchase large dog crates, kennels, and cat carriers. A large manufacturer of these products is giving MAC a very generous discount, and we're working to get those items shipped directly to the rescue teams, but it is expensive - a large dog kennel can cost more than $100, with hard-sided carriers starting at $40.

Please help us save the pets of New Orleans by making a donation today! To donate online, click on the link below. Or mail a check payable to MAC, 8333 Douglas Avenue, Suite 1350, Dallas, Texas 75225. Be sure to note on your check that you'd like to designate your donation to help animal victims of Hurricane Katrina.
