Goa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
The Goa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was set up in 2000, with the help of the central Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and is recognised by the Animal Welfare Board of India. It is registered under the Societies Act, and with the Income Tax authorities as an approved charitable institution. Its Chairman, Lynn de Souza, a well known advertising professional, is also a certified veterinary nurse trained in Australia, a master trainer for the AWBI, and a life member of the Bombay SPCA and of PFA Goa. The Managing Trustee, Lt Col Nageshkar, is the Secretary of the Bombay SPCA, a member of the AWBI National Board, and very well known in animal welfare circles for his dedicated work over the past decade.
