The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is dedicated to the protection of all animals. It's program sections include wildlife and habitat protection, companion animal (pets) and equine protection issues, animal research, and farm animals and sustainable agriculture. Through its government affairs office in Washington, DC, it lobbies on the federal, state, and local level on behalf of animal protection and humane legislation. Its international branch, Humane Society International (HSI), works worldwide on behalf of animals.
