AFAR, like it's sister organisation in the US (FAR) seeks to educate the community on the links between animal abuse and domestic violence, objectification and exploitation of animals, women and nature. We are an ecofeminist organisation with a vegan philosophy. AFAR is for women, men, activists, animal lovers, queers, greenies, mothers and fathers and thier children - everyone who wants to see a peaceful and equitable world for all species.Our main camapign is to lobby for the implementaiton of the 'First Strike' intitiaveive in Australia. Domestic violence and animal abuse are intimately linked and we want authoirites to recognise this and act on it for the benefit of all.
