Detailed Information:
Hamilton animal Rights Defence (H.A.R.D.) was set up to oppose the vicious and unnecessary suffering of animals. What especially concern us are industries that abuse animals for profit and entertainment. Some examples of this are: Rodeos, Zoos, Circus, Vivisection, Meat and Dairy Industries, Fur Trade, Pet Trade and so on.
H.A.R.D. Adheres to a philosophy of Animal Liberation, that all animals, as sentient conscious beings, have the right to be free, to be liberated. with the knowledge of this truth, any atte mpt to enslave an animal, especially for the purpose of profit, is seen as a gross infringement on the right of animals to be free. Animals are not commodities to be exploited. They are not resources but our companions and equals. The idea of Animal Liberation is against the use of animals as a source of food, fur, entertainment, or test subjects for science. All of these are cruel and unnecessary for human health and happiness and will in fact benefit us.
H.A.R.D. Sees the Animal Liberation struggle as being one of historical momentum, that is that Animal Liberation is inevitable and must be fought for using the same tactics as all other successful liberation struggles in history. That is why H.A.R.D. supports and encourages Direct Action for Animal Rights.
