    Save Our Kangaroos

Website dedicated to promoting the abolition of hunting Australian kangaroos for the use of their meat, skins and by-products.

The hunting of Australian kangaroos in the wild is a cruel and abhorrent practice, which is indiscriminate and targets all kangaroos, including the large alpha males which are necessary for the ongoing breeding of health kangaroos, and the females who most likely have pouch young as well as young at foot joeys.

The Government of Australia is complicit in this destruction, as it encourages hunters to bash the heads of baby joeys with an iron bar or against a rock or tree trunk.

The meat is used for dog food, and is promoted as a healthy alternative for humans to red meat from cows. It is exported to many countries for the consumption of so-called "gourmet diners", including a recent meal for the Explorers Club at the Waldorf Astoria where kangaroo testicles were served in gravy for the diners' delight!

The skins are used by Adidas for sportsmans' boots, and the soccer player David Beckham recently switched from kangaroo skin boots to synthetic material, thereby giving a lead to all sportsmen.
