One of the oldest ornithological societies in the world, BirdLife South Africa (previously the South African Ornithological Society) has contributed hugely to the knowledge of wild birds in southern Africa during the past 60 years. The Society is for anyone who feels an enjoyment for birds, be it for recreation, research or conservation. Our partnership with BirdLife International places us in a global organisation dedicated to the conservation of birds.
