Detailed Information:
Qumbya Housing Co-op has been in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago since 1987. Our collective is made up of 4 houses in the neighborhood, all of which collectively purchase natural and organic vegetarian foods and have community vegetarian meals 6 or 7 nights of the week.We often put on workshops that have to do with cooperative living and vegetarian cooking. We are currently in the beginning stages of organizing a Chicago City-wide cooperative conference and would like to include issues that pertain to living in vegetarian community, amongst others. Ideas are needed as we would like the conference to be of interest to not only people that are currently involved in co-op but also those folks that are interested in issues that are in some way or another related to co-ops. We hope to have the conference mid-spring.
