    Boston Vegetarian Society

The Boston Vegetarian Society (BVS) seeks to make a better world for people, animals, and the earth through advancing a healthful vegetarian diet and a compassionate ethic. We provide education, encouragement, and community support for vegetarians and for anyone wishing to learn more about a healthy, environmentally friendly and humane way of life.

BVS organizes an active schedule of educational and community building events, several each month. All of our events are open, welcoming, and inclusive to everyone. We encourage non-vegetarians and vegetarians alike to join us as we learn and share information, friendship, and community support in carrying out our Mission.

BVS is the organizer of the annual Boston Vegetarian Food Festival, offered free to the public, attracting about 10,000 attendees each year. 100 exhibitors, free food sampling, top national speakers, award winning chefs and cookbook authors, educational exhibits - all aimed at introducing and promoting veg living in a fun environment.

In addition, we offer monthly educational seminars (free), vegan cooking classes, monthly dining outs, special speaker events, holiday events, and do outreach at fairs, festivals, and expos around the Boston area. We run subway ads promoting vegetarianism, and are a resourse to the media, students, and the veg and non-veg public.
