    Detailed Information:

September 19, 2022 – In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Animalearn’s The Science Bank, the largest provider of humane science education products free of charge to students and educators nationwide, is launching a new Internet resource. Found by logging on to www.animalearn.org, this new web resource features a newly expanded searchable hub for educational products, making it the most comprehensive free loan program for dissection alternatives and humane education tools like CD-ROMS, videos, and realistic models in The United States. The Science Bank’s free loan program has increased its online library to over 300 humane science education products that can outfit entire classrooms with the most current and educationally effective products available.

The Science Bank continues to expand to meet the needs of K-12 students who wish to exercise their right to choose an alternative method to dissection under student choice laws. Such laws are currently in place in California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia. Additionally, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, and New Mexico have policies that grant students the right to choose alternatives to dissection.

Laura Ducceschi, Director of Animalearn, adds, “The newly launched Science Bank web resource provides a comprehensive listing of the most technologically innovative free humane science education tools that meet the needs of each and every student who wishes to exercise his or her right to choose an alternative under student choice laws. Every year, more states enact student choice laws, which means more students and educators will need support finding the right alternatives for class. Animalearn is proud to help support these students and educators who want to embrace humane science.”

Animalearn, the education division of the American Anti-Vivisection Society, is dedicated to assisting educators and students in finding non-animal methods to teach and study science. Towards that objective, Animalearn created The Science Bank, a comprehensive lending program of over 300 CD-ROMS, realistic models, and many more humane products that enable educators to teach and students to learn anatomy, physiology, and psychology lessons without harming animals. Compassionate students and educators can access this program online at www.Animalearn.org or call (800)729-2287.
