3dayz
3dayz is an affiliation of the Dutch animal rights organisation EDEV - Een DIER Een VRIEND (or in English: An Animal Friend). EDEV was formed in 1999 by activists who by then already had 20 years of experience in the Dutch animal rights movement. EDEV has seen many successes since its formation and its president, Geoffrey Deckers, is chairman of the ECEAE - European Coalition to End Animal Experiments: a coalition that is formed by 16 organisations from 16 different European countries. While pushing to end animal experiments through the ECEAE, EDEV still holds true to its grassroot mentality by undertaking eye-catching demonstrations and campaigns as well as constantly supporting and working together with grassroot organisations all over the world. EDEV also runs the Humane Cosmetics Standard in the Netherlands.

Great to see you want to learn more about 3dayz and the ideas that lie at the core of it. Launched in December 2011, 3dayz sets out to stop animal abuse around the world and help raise awareness of local animal rights groups to get more support for their campaigns. In short this boils down to 3 key things:
3dayz is about fighting animal cruelty before anything else
We're here to fight animal cruelty in its entirely. Not bigger cages, but ending suffering; not animal welfare, but ending exploitation - these are the results we're after. Giving companies who deal in animal cruelty the world's attention for a full 3 days until they get the message. Not giving up and not giving in is our ideal: all on behalf of all the animals who suffer and die each and every day because of us.
3dayz is about supporting groups of great individuals around the world dedicated to ending animal abuse
There are a lot of great people out there fighting animal abuse on a local level - local grassroot campaigns of caring people who's tireless efforts have seen many victories for animals already. It is these people and those campaigns that deserve all the support possible... your support! And it is these people we want to give a platform so they can reach out to a larger audience, get more support and bring their important campaigns to a successful ending swiftly.
3dayz is about centralizing efforts - about being intensively persuasive
Centralizing efforts and being intensively persuasive is great fun when supporting the campaigns of local animal rights groups. Not because the message 'If you deal in animal cruelty, you deal with us' has changed, but our numbers have! The fact of the matter is that more and more people all over the world are changing their behaviour towards animals in a positive manner by living an animal friendly lifestyle. And with that, more and more people use the internet to speak out on behalf of the animals (i.e. signing petitions and sending emails to companies). The method of contacting companies en masse to tell them it's not acceptable to harm animals has proven itself for a long time already and has resulted in numerous companies making important positive changes in their policies towards animals.
