Philadelphia Herpetological Society
Professor Roger Conant and a small group of reptile enthusiasts and herpetologists founded the Society in 1952. PHS is among the oldest herpetological societies in North America. PHS is a IRS approved 501c3, non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
The Society owns and operates a nature preserve in Southern New Jersey for threatened and endangered reptiles and amphibians (and other wildlife/habitat.)
